Disembodied Culture, 2014
Disembodied Culture is an installation that explores a growing sense of futility in contemporary society, and its connection to extremist ideology and the increasing violence against women and minorities. It critiques how issues of racism, misogyny, gender violence, and existential emptiness, are interconnected.
The installation highlights the normalisation of hate crime and the systemic abuse women and minorities face, while also addressing the alienation caused by a consumer-driven, technology-dominated culture. Ultimately, it calls for reflection on how these societal fractures undermine human dignity and community.
