Fugitive, 2014

Fugitive is an experiential artwork that delves into the dynamics of submission and dominance, exploring the tension between strength and fragility. Using timber and string as its primary materials, it plays with the notion of stability and restraint, as the strings pull and hold the timber in place, creating a delicate balance between force and vulnerability.

The artwork reflects on the fragility of power and control, highlighting the subtle yet powerful ways in which forces of submission and dominance interact, with the structure’s ability to withstand or break symbolising the complex interplay of these forces.
